The ability to report sources properly is a significant aspect of every student’s stock-in-trade. Correct quote should be a standard technique used instantly in the planning and demonstration of articles, conference documents, dissertations, study reviews and these. It is in the passions of both the author and visitors of such items of labor that sources should be mentioned properly, continually and in complete, so that they type a useful important aspect of the task as a whole. For college student function in the School of Location we use the Stanford referencing program. Here the authors' titles and schedules are given in parentheses in the body of the writing, e.g. (Postlethwaite, 1934), and the sources detailed alphabetically in complete at the end of the document. References in the writing to specific webpages are needed in situation of estimates (e.g. Roberts, 1967, pp. 21-22). Where referrals is made to more than one book by the same author(s) in a single season, items should be classified by using the characters a, b, c, etc. (e.g. Gregory, 1979a; Master, 1974c). This papers provides a brief guide to quote using the Stanford program. It looks for to explain the foundations involved in referencing different types of performs (books, book articles, web pages) and to provide illustrative types of such sources.1 The actual way of punctuation for referencing, such as whether or not to places schedules in supports, tends to vary by founder. The best strategy is simply to follow one way of approved punctuation and to continually apply it. Have at a look at a modern book article or book section for assistance. For further information, see section 14 in Kneale P (1999) Study Skills for Location Learners (London, Arnold). A.
